From the Stoke Damerel Parish Records [p110 MF501 entry 438]: Simon Seume of this parish, labourer, and Elizabeth Allen of this parish, spinster, were married in this church by banns in the year 1789, 14th March, by W. Dillon, curate. Neither signed, but marked with a X, in the presence of Thomas Townshend and Hannah Townshend. Stoke Damerel Church still stands in Paradise Road, Devonport, Plymouth, England.
